Privacy Policy

AudioFetcher provides an online media converter, browser-local audio utilities, and optional browser extensions. This policy explains which features use the AudioFetcher server and which run entirely on your device.

Browser-local audio tools

Files selected on pages under audiofetcher.com/tools are processed in browser memory by code served with the page. The selected media and generated result are not uploaded to AudioFetcher. Refreshing or closing the page clears that temporary browser state. AudioFetcher records only sampled aggregate counts for broad page categories and local tool starts, completions, and failures. Those counts contain no filename, media content, file URL, page URL, search query, or account identifier.

Online converter

When you submit a supported media URL to the online converter, the URL and requested settings are sent to the AudioFetcher conversion server so it can fetch and process the requested media. Completed output is deleted after the download response, while unclaimed output is removed after a short cleanup period.

Information the extension uses

• Website content: when you use the extension on YouTube, it reads the active video URL, title, thumbnail, playlist links, and media information needed to perform the conversion you requested.
• Local extension data: the extension stores settings, selected MP3 quality, queue items, free batch usage, and an anonymous install ID in Chrome storage.
• Payment and supporter information: subscriptions are handled by Stripe and optional one-time Supporter Pass purchases are handled by Buy Me a Coffee. We receive the purchaser email, purchased item, quantity, transaction identifier, payment status, and access expiration needed to provide the purchased access. We do not receive or store full credit card numbers.
• Feedback information: if you submit feedback or uninstall feedback, we may receive the message, reason, optional email address, anonymous install ID, and submission time.
• Error diagnostics: if a conversion fails, the extension may send the YouTube URL, video ID, title, error message, conversion stage, selected media format, file size estimate, extension version, and anonymous install ID. It does not send cookies, YouTube account data, page contents, or media files.
• Website incident diagnostics: when the website or conversion service fails, we may store the incident ID shown to you, error code and stage, bounded technical detail, request or job ID, retry count, app version, video ID, a pseudonymous account hash, and the coarse acquisition category. We do not store passwords, authentication cookies, payment details, or a full referring URL in the incident record. Incident records are automatically deleted after 180 days.
• Acquisition and local-tool analytics: the website may record a sampled, aggregate source category such as direct, search, YouTube, email, social, or referral. For local tools, the record may also include an allowlisted tool identifier and aggregate events such as a page view, run, completion, failure, download, or click to another tool. The category is inferred from campaign parameters or the referring hostname for the current browser session. Full referrer URLs, search terms, uploaded media, IP addresses, arbitrary page URLs, and cross-site browsing history are not stored in this analytics record.
• Service email activity: important account or service emails may use a signed, pseudonymous link to record whether the website was visited and whether sign-in was requested or completed. We do not use tracking pixels to monitor email opens.

How information is used

Information is used only to provide AudioFetcher's features: requested conversion, local-tool reliability measurement, queue and playlist handling, license checks, subscription management, support, feedback, error diagnosis, and abuse prevention.

Local conversion

Browser-extension conversion and the local file tools run in your browser. Those features do not upload the selected media file to AudioFetcher. The online URL converter is a separate server-based feature described above.

Third-party services

• Stripe: used for subscription checkout, billing management, and license status.
• Buy Me a Coffee: used for optional one-time Supporter Pass purchases. Signed purchase and refund notifications are used to activate, extend, or revoke the corresponding access.
• Resend: used to deliver account access and important service notices. Extension feedback and uninstall submissions are stored in D1 and are not forwarded by email.
• Cloudflare Workers, KV, and D1: used for license checks, feedback forms, subscription status storage, sampled error diagnostics, and incident correlation. Sampled extension diagnostics are automatically deleted after 30 days; website incident records are deleted after 180 days.

Data sharing

We do not sell user data. We do not use user data for advertising, creditworthiness, or purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose. Data is shared only with service providers needed to operate payments, licensing, feedback, and hosting.

Data retention

Local extension data remains in your browser until you remove it or uninstall the extension. Subscription and Supporter Pass records are kept as needed to provide purchased access, process refunds, prevent duplicate grants, and maintain transaction records. Feedback submissions may be retained to improve support and product quality. Pseudonymous service-email engagement records are retained to measure whether an important migration or account notice reached affected subscribers.
